Assessment of the failure rates of diesel generators and electronic cards for determinating the probability of failure of safety systems

Description
Three different kinds of data back-flow for plants are examined: 1. Evaluation by the expert of all available documents of the operator on the site. 2. Written questioning of operators on operational experience without in situ control. 3. Evaluation of documents of an operator liable of documentation. The failure rates according to 3. have the highest indicative value, those according to 2. the lowest one. According to the investigations made, the average failure rate of an electronic card lies at 10-6 h-1, the failure rate of a diesel generator for load operation at 10-2 h-1 and for start-ups at 10-2 pro start-up. Es werden 3 verschiedene Arten des Datenrueckflusses aus Betrieben untersucht: 1. Auswertung von allen verfuegbaren Unterlagen durch den Sachverstaendigen beim Betreiber, 2. schriftliche Befragung von Betreibern ueber Betriebserfahrungen ohne Kontrolle vor Ort, 3. Auswertung von Dokumenten eines aufzeichnungspflichtigen Betreibers. Die Ausfallraten gemaess 3. besitzen die hoechste Aussagekraft, die gemaess 2. die geringste. Nach den Untersuchungen liegt die Ausfallrate einer Elektronikkarte im Mittel bei 10-6 h-1, die Ausfallrate eines Dieselaggregats fuer den Lastlauf bei 10-2 h-1 und fuer Startvorgaenge bei 10-2 pro Start.
