Response of incore γ-detectors to parametric fluctuations in a reactor core
Description
Adjoint transport theory is applied to coupled neutron- and γ-transport in order to analyse the detection properties of γ-detectors with respect to fluctuating reactor core parameters. In a three-group analysis with two neutron-groups and one γ-group it is shown that a small incore γ-detector acts like a spatially smeared-out neutron-detector, concentrated mainly in the surrounding fuel rods and with a relatively high epithermal sensitivity.
