Basic analysis and comparison among GCFR and LMFBR characteristics in thorium cycle by difusion theory in one energy group

Description

A preliminary study of the neutronic characteristics of fast of fast breeding reactors with thorium cycle, is done, using models and simplified methods of reactor analysis, aiming to meet an adequate type of breeder reactor with an efficient thorium utilization, that is abundant at Brazil. Basic methods of cross section and reactor calculations are studied, and they are applied for the analysis of GCFRs and LMFBRs breeding characteristics. (E.G.)

Um estudo preliminar das caracteristicas neutronicas dos reatores regeneradores rapidos com o ciclo do torio e feita, utilizando modelos e metodos simplificados de analise de reatores, com a finalidade de encontrar um tipo de reator regenerador adequado com uma eficiente utilizacao do torio, que e abundante no Brasil. Sao estudados metodos basicos de calculos de secoes de choque e do reator e sao aplicados para analise das caracteristicas de regeneracao dos GCFRs e LMFBRs. (E.G.)
