Synthesis, characterization, and properties of poly(2-propenoic acid-co-ethenyl acetate) copolymers
Description
A series of poly(2-propenoic acid-co-ethenyl acetate) copolymers was synthesized by free radical-initiated copolymerization. These copolymers were characterized in terms of composition, intrinsic viscosity, hydrophilicity, and the ability to interact with zirconium ions in aqueous solution. Correlation was found between the carboxylic acid content of the copolymers and both the hydrophilicity and ability to interact with zirconium ions in solution. 14 refs., 4 figs., 4 tabs
