Investigation of the three-body photodisintegration of the nucleus 9Be with a hybrid method

Description
We study the three-body photodisintegration of the nucleus 9Be with a hybrid method which is based on expansion in basis hyperspherical functions in solution of the Faddeev integral equations. The wave function of the ground state of the nucleus 9Be in the three-particle cluster model and the function of the continuous spectrum of the system α+α+n are obtained in a unique way with the use of the same two-particle interaction potentials. It is shown that the peculiar behavior of the total cross section curve observed experimentally at low energies is caused by the three-particle dynamics of the system α+α+n in the final state. The important role of the final-state interaction is revealed. The good convergence with respect to the number of included harmonics in the hybrid method is demonstrated
