Monte Carlo measurement of the vacuum wavefunction for non-abelian gauge theory in D=3 dimensions
Description
The Yang-Mills vacuum wavefunction is investigated by a Monte Carlo simulation of SU(2) lattice gauge theory in D=3 dimensions. The vacuum wavefunction obtained on the lattice is expanded in powers of the lattice spacing and the scaling behavior is not only observed in the coefficients of the term of the field strength squared but also in the ones of the term of its covariant derivative squared. The result implies that the correlation length in the vacuum has the same order of magnitude as the confinement scale. (orig.)
