The energy measurement of alpha particles using CA SSNTD

Description
By using the rear-etching method, a very sensitive cellulose acetate solid state nuclear track detector (CA SSNTD) has been made for use in alpha spectrometry. The energy resolution for alpha particles of 5.31-8.78 MeV is in the range of 66-90 keV. A formula for obtaining the alpha particle ranges in the CA SSNTD is given. The ranges of alpha particles derived from it have been measured and compared with the calculated values. (author)
