QOL in irradiated esophageal cancer patients
Description
QOL in irradiated esophageal cancer patients was evaluated retrospectively. Improvement of dysphagia was observed in 63.4% of the patients, although radiation therapy could not improve the QOL of the patients with fistula. Local recurrence strongly influenced the QOL of surviving patients. The QOL of patients surviving without recurrence after definitive radiation therapy seemed to be better than that of patients who received surgery. (author)
