The Irradiation of Special Coated Particles Designed to Test Stress-Model Calculated Predictions. (Dragon MET IV Experiment). Part VI: Evaluation of the Experiment

The original idea of carrying out a joint irradiation experiment on coated particle fuel for high temperature reactors arose from a meeting held in Arnhem, Holland on 4th July, 1968. It was agreed that the objective would be to design, manufacture, characterise, irradiate and post-irradiation examine, special coated particles designed to test the mathematical stress-model for coated particles developed by Wal ther [1, 2]. The partners in the joint experiment and their main areas of work were as set out below and involved no formal contracts or payments, each partner contributing materials, facilities, or work as appropriate. The information gained from the experiment was to be available to all partners on a joint report basis. (See Table 1).
