Actual state of plant decline phenomena due to acid rain and others

Description
In Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, withered trees are seen in the fir forest of Mt. Homan. The authors have advanced the investigation for elucidating the cause of withered trees in Mt. Homan. As the environmental factors, rainfall, soil, the substances polluting the atmosphere and so on have been investigated since 1990, and in this report, the present state of withered trees and rainfall and soil is described. The outline of the place being investigated is reported. (K.I.)
