Description
During the 23rd periodical inspection, at Tokai-II PS owned by The Japan Atomic Power Company, the upgrade of moisture separator for steam turbine was conducted including application of chevron vane (double pocket type) in order to ensure reliability and to improve efficiency. Perforated plate was additionally assembled in front of the vane for equalization of flow distribution. Pre-and-post performance test was done and it was confirmed that turbine heat rate was improved by 1.4% that can be converted to approximate 20% improvement of moisture separation efficiency.
