Developing techniques for removing activated concrete [decommissioning]

Description

A variety of optimised techniques may be needed to remove the activated layer of concrete in biological shields and pressure vessels without damaging the external shell of non-active concrete which will be needed to provide containment. Mechanical systems, chemical techniques and thermal methods for dismantling radioactive concrete structures are discussed. (author)
