Decoding the quark-gluon plasma with jet quenching observables

  • 1. Departament d'Estructura i Constituents de la Matèria and Institut de Ciències del Cosmos (IC-CUB), Universitat de Barcelona, Martí i Franques 1, 08028 Barcelona (Spain)

Description

We briefly describe two interesting aspects of heavy-ion collisions related to jets and medium dynamics. First, we discuss how the interaction with the medium change the energy and internal distributions of a QCD jet. Secondly, we discuss a possible manifestation of effects from the confining (chromo)magnetic scale for quark excitations in a realistic plasma. (paper)
