Analysis of steam chugging phenomena. Volume 3: SAMPAC hydrodynamic pool response code
Description
A free surface hydrodynamic code developed to study the fluid response in steam suppression systems during chugging events is described. The methods employed include the partial cell treatment of the free surface and the time average and central difference numerical schemes for solving the equations of motion. Qualitative agreement with experimental results has been achieved. The code is shown to be applicable to more general free surface fluid systems
