Development of Radionuclide imaging technique and quality control

  • 1. Cancer Hospital, CAMS, Beijing (China)

Description

The outline of the Medical Imaging Technique was described. The principle, characteristic, advantage and disadvantage of each imaging technique and their relationship were also mentioned. In the recent years the radionuclide imaging technique has been developed rapidly. There are now 150 SPECTs and 75 gamma cameras in operation in China. In order to increase diagnostic standard and improve the quality of the image, the quality control program must be implemented. Some research work on quality control in nuclear medical instrumentation, such as QC pantom design, QC software package development and QC inspection have been carried out. In the near future QC will be certificated by the government authority
