Description
Combined gamma-beam therapy with the Selektron hose device was administrated to 54 patients with esophageal cancer. The scheme included session of long-distance gamma-beam therapy and intracavitary gamma irradiation. Long-distance gamma beam thearpy was administrated be means of the Rokus-M and Agat-RM devices in the static regimen to make the total dose 50 Gy. Intracavitary gamma-beam therapy was administrated 2-3 weeks after the long-distance therapy, when the esophageal patency was restored and was at least 5 mm. The total focal dose after two stages of irradiation was 70-75 Gy.
