Description

Academician Viktor Ivanovich Spitsyn was in charge of the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of USSR over 40 years. He made a great contribution to development of physical, inorganic and radiation chemistry, created own scientific school. Collaborators of the Institute handled problems on chemistry of transuranium elements, behaviour of materials of different states in radiation field conditions. Solvated electron, new valent states of actinides were discovered, a new scientific direction - quantum chemistry of heavy elements - was created

Академик Виктор Иванович Спицын руководил Институтом физической химии АН СССР около 40 лет. Он внес большой вклад в развитие физической, неорганической и радиационной химии, содал свою научную школу. Сотрудники Института решали важнейшие проблемы химии трансурановых элементов, поведения материалов в различном состоянии в условиях радиационных полей. Были открыты сольватированный электрон, новые валентные состояния актинидов, создано новое научное направление - квантовая химия тяжелых элементов
