  • 1. R.D. University, Jabalpur (India). Coordination Chemistry Laboratory

Description

Some novel chelates of uranyl nitrate with Schiff bases derived from 2,3-dimethyl-4-formyl-1-phenyl-3-pyrazoline-5-one (DFPP) and aromatic amines, viz., o-anisidine, (OA), p-anisidine (PA), m-anisidine (MA), o-toluidine (OT), p-toluidine (PT), m-toluidine (MT), 2,6-xylidine (2,6-X) or 2,4-xylidine (2,4-X) have been synthesized. The resulting compounds, which have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductances, molecular weight determination, magnetic measurements, electronic and I.R. spectral studies, have the general composition, [UO2(A-A)2(NO3)3], where A-A Schiff base.
