A study on application of quenching meshes for hydrogen control in nuclear power plants (I)

Description

The objective of the report is to find the installation measures of quenching mesh in order to radically remove a containment threat and to guarantee an equipment survivability due to hydrogen combustion. The principle of flame quenching during hydrogen propagation, applications of quenching meshes in the industry and things of various kinds of quenching meshes was investigated. The applicability in nuclear plower plants through analyzing experimental results depending on the installation of quenching meshes or not between two small compartments is also reviewed. In addition, the possible location for quenching mesh to prevent flame propagation is suggested in case of starting a burn from each ignitor installed in YGN 5,6 nuclear plower plants. The equipments that have to be survive during severe accidents is investigated
