Einleitung: Der Kugelhaufenreaktor besteht aus einem zylindrischen Behälter, der mit einem Graphitreflektor ausgekleidet ist und in loser Schüttung kugelförmige Brennelemente enthält. Die Kühlung wird durch Helium bewirkt, welches diese Kugel schüttung durchströmt. Unter Betrieb werden die Brennelemente langsam unten abgezogen und von oben durch frische ersetzt. Bei AVR und THTR werden die entladenen Kugeln mehrfach wieder eingesetzt, bis sie einen vorgegebenen Zielabbrand erreicht haben.Files
