The Department of Energy initiative on atmospheric radiation measurements - A study of radiation forcing and feedbacks
Description
An overview of the DOE's Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) program to address global climate change is presented. The program is a direct continuation of DOE's effort to enhance GCMs and provide reliable simulations of long-term and regional climate change in response to increasing greenhouse gases. The goal of the ARM program is to provide a testbed to study important atmospheric effects, especially cloud and radiative processes, and to test parameterizations of these processes for utilization in atmospheric models. 6 refs
