Technology and production practice of uranium extraction from lignite

Description

The main technologies of extracting uranium from lignite in a uranium mill are described. The ways to resolve the key technical problems in the past 20 years and the obtained results and progress are introduced. The production experience showed that it is necessary to extract uranium with simultaneously generating electricity and providing vapour. The low-temperature burn of lignite and the direct solvent extraction in pulp played a key role in the whole technoloical process. The technical feasibility and economic rationality of the technological flowsheet are discussed, and the measurements and directions for further improvements are proposed for extensively developing the uraniferous lignite resources
