A kinetics nodal method for light water reactor analysis
- 1. Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, Beijing (China)
Description
A kinetics nodal method for the solution of transient two-group multi-dimensional neutron diffusion equation is described. The method is developed based on the nonlinear analytic nodal method. The report describes this nodal method in detail, including the time-domain approximation method as well as the linear solver for the resulting CMFD equation. The proposed method has been incorporated into a computer code NODAN-K. The code has been tested by several kinetics benchmark problems. The numerical results demonstrate that the method has satisfactory accuracy and computational efficiency. This nodal method can be applied as a multi-dimensional neutronics model to light water reactor transient analysis
