Creators

Description

The different techniques used in nuclear medicine are described and explained. Relative to the diagnostic techniques, some examples of radiopharmaceuticals are given with their use and their half life. The in vivo techniques with S.p.e.c.t., P.e.t. are explained. The second method of diagnostic, in vitro, is described trough the radioimmunoassay. Radiotherapy is briefly examined with brachytherapy and radiolabelled antibodies. The reduction of pain is a possibility through radiotherapy, especially for bones cancers. Sterilization of instruments and dosimetry are tackled. (N.C.)
