Developments in the production of certified radioactive samples at the National Office of Measures, Hungary (1980-1984)
Description
To meet the increasing demands for certified radioactive samples the assortment of radionuclides was improved. 58 products including multicomponent liquid and solid probes, ring sources for XRF excitation, collimated sup(241)Am sources and radioactive chemicals are available. The method of determining radioactive impurities was further developed, the accuracy of radioactive concentration determination was increased. Some new procedures such as electrospraying, the application of ion excage materials, were applied to the preparation of the samples. According to international comparisons organized by BIPM, ICRM, IAEA and committees of the COMECON, the National Office of Measures, Hungary, achieved remarkable results. (V.N.)
