Dislocation structure and mechanical properties of armco iron under plane rolling
- 1. AN SSSR, Sverdlovsk. Inst. Fiziki Metallov
Description
A study has been made into the relationship between the relative length of screw dislocations and the mechanical properties of armco iron, on the one hand, and the degree of cold forming by flat rolling With subsequent annealing at 680 deg C, on the other. It is shoWn that, in the region of 20-30% strains with subsequent annealing, the relative length of screw dislocations increases up to about 70%, then decreases. The changes in the mechanical properties correlate with those in the relative length of screw dislocations. As the relative length of screw dislocations increases or decreases, mechanical characteristics σsub(s), σsub(B), delta and asub(h) change accordingly. This correlation does not hold in the region of high degrees of cold forming, when destruction processes become predominant
