Proceedings of the 26. RAU: annual users meeting LNLS/CNPEM

Description

The construction of the new synchrotron light source (SIRIUS) continues in a steady and solid pace, while this first-phase beamlines are already fully specified with some components already under construction. The earlier efforts to modernize the current LNLS facilities, including the construction, commissioning and operation of two high-performance beamlines in the soft (PGM) and hard (XDS) X-ray region, amongst other initiatives, seem to have reached a mature stage. As a consequence, previously unattainable conditions of beam intensity, energy resolution and sample environments are now possible at LNLS, bridging the gap between the capabilities of the earlier facilities and what will be possible to perform in SIRIUS. It is hoped that the communication of the science and instrumentation for the future, fertilizes new ideas and create new links. The meeting aimed to gather researchers who use LNLS scientific instrumentation to perform experiments in areas such as Materials Science, Health and Pharmacology, Environmental Science, Energy, Biotechnology, X-ray Imaging, Oil and Gas, Chemistry and others
