Development of integrated C/S system at fuel cycle facilities
- 1. Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corp., Tokai, Ibaraki (Japan). Tokai Works
Description
In order to apply International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards to automated fuel cycle facilities, it is necessary to have Containment and surveillance (C/S) system to avoid the inspector's direct access to nuclear material. However, conventional C/S systems such as twin camera or video recorder have some problems of long reviewing time, etc. The integrated C/S system, which was drastically improved by adopting optical disc recording system and by making use of several trigger signal generators, was developed. The system can supply real time information on locations of items to be monitored. (author)
