Electrical properties of rich hydrocarbon flames

Description

This paper presents measurement of electrical properties of rich hydrocarbon flames having colloidal carbon particles and comparison of the experimental results with the theory of colloidal plasmas. It is seen that in air-hydrocarbon flames the thermionic emission from colloidal carbon particles is the dominant process determining the electron density for temperatures around 1600 degreeK and above
