Reaction rate measurements alongside the radial of the fuel pellet IPEN/MB-01 reactor nucleus

Description
This paper presents the preliminary measurements of the reaction rate, alongside the radial direction of the fuel pellet, obtained from the irradiation and posterior gamma spectrometry of a thin blade of natural uranium UO2 sampled as function of different internal diameters, from the utilization of various lead collimators with variable diameters. In the same way, a comparison is presented with the same values obtained through the calculations using the MCNP-4C code. Finally, the calculation of radioactive capture reaction rate was performed in the U-238 (C8). (author)
