Itese Newsletter. Number 32 Autumn 2017

Description

A first set of articles addresses the presence and action of the CEA in French territories, and the energy strategy of the Paris-Saclay urban campus. An article then proposes a discussion on costs associated with the existing nuclear activity in France, based on a cash cost approach. It presents the cost calculation method, discusses the production cost of existing generation II French nuclear reactors, discusses additional aspects for some cost lines (uranium price, reactor lifetime, dismantling, cycle upstream cost and waste management, management of recoverable materials, impact of the Fukushima accident). The next articles propose an overview of the situation and perspective of solar energy in Morocco, and a discussion of the LCOE (levelized cost of energy) for a photovoltaic solar plant of several MW with a comparison with PPAs (Power Purchase Agreement). Some brief information are then proposed, with notably a synthesis of an International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) congress, and a description of a cooperation with the Essonne chamber of commerce and industry
