Description
Systematic analysis of drilling core samples for uranium geological exploration include gamma radiation screening, observation of thin section with microscopy, crushing of sample, sorting of mineral particles, measurement of inclusion by laser Raman spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, identification of minerals by X-ray diffraction as well as electron probe microanalysis,determination of major elements by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, uranium by wet chemical analysis, trace elements by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry, nuclides by high pure Ge gamma spectrometry and isotopic compositions by mass spectrometries. The integrated information on the drilling core samples through such systematic analysis could provide better service for uranium geology. (authors)
