Thermal transport properties of polycrystalline Pb2FeMoO6

  • 1. School of Physics, Southeast University, Nanjing, 210096 (China)

Description

Thermoelectric properties and specific heat of polycrystalline Pb2FeMoO6 have been systematically studied. The thermal conductivity increases monotonically with increasing of temperature, and reaches the maximum value 1.50 W m−1 K−1 at 350 K. The relatively low thermal conductivity is mainly attributed to the strong scattering effect of phonons at Fe/Mo sites. The negative Seebeck coefficient indicates the n-type conduction of the sample. The absolute value of S increases up to 20 μV K−1 at 350 K. Due to the inhomogeneity resulting from Fe/Mo ions disorder, no distinct λ-type specific heat peak or anomaly typical for second-order transitions are observed. (paper)
