Operation and development of dispatch equipment for CASTOR registered transport casks

The German dispatch regulations for the high-level waste transport an storage casks type CASTOR registered includes several test and inspection steps. The requirements for the respective equipment are complex since this equipment has to be reliably applied in different nuclear power plants in Germany. On the other hand the equipment transport from one nuclear power plant to the next plant should not take too much time. Measures for improved reliability and flexibility have to include aspect of radiation protection and decontamination.
