Thermo gravimetric characterization of crosslinked Chitosan prepared by gamma irradiation in the presence of CCl4 as sensitizer
- 1. Radiation Technology Development Section, Isotope Group, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Hirup, Mumbai (India)
Description
A new method for radiation induced crosslinking of Chitosan in the presence of carbon tetrachloride as sensitizer has been developed. The crosslinking of Chitosan takes place by bridging of two chains by the carbon atom of CCl4. Thermogravimetric characterization shows that crosslinking reaction result in significant changes in Chitosan at micro structural level. (author)
