226Ra intake in the population from Bucharest during the past ten years

Description

During 1986-1996 the content of several radionuclides, including 226Ra, in the basic foodstuffs and in drinking water was determined. Based on these data and on the data concerning the constituents of the diet in Romania, the 226Ra intake by the population of Bucharest was estimated for the last ten years, and the doses due to this intake were calculated. The results are presented in graphs and tables, and some general conclusions are drawn. (A.K.)
