Theory and applications of the Romulus induction tool for conductivity and susceptibility slim-hole logging
Description
The ROMULUS slimhole logging probe is an induction tool which records simultaneously the in-phase and quadrature parts of the secondary field, thus leading to combined magnetic susceptibility and electrical conductivity measurements. The quantitative analysis of the data is made possible by a precise knowledge of the tool response, not only for homogeneous or stratified mediums, but also for more complex geometries. Computations for the later are based on a generalized reciprocity scheme which is well suited to the low induction domain and thus to ROMULUS characteristics. Case histories are shown to illustrate the various domains of application of this tool
