External beam radiotherapy planning - the Edinburgh algorithm

Description

In the early 1970's details were published of an interactive treatment planning system based on software developed in assembly language for the PDP8. More recently it has become economic to develop software for such applictions in high level languages. The article indicates some potential sources of inaccuracy in a Fortran implementation and describes modifications which have been found useful in minimising their importance
