Metallogenetic geological feature and prospecting direction of volcanic type uranium deposit in Northeast China

  • 1. Research Inst. No.240, CNNC, Shenyang (China)

Description

A systematic analysis on the relation of geological structure, mantle diapirism, volcanic activity, hydrothermal alteration with uranium metallogenic process in Northeast China is made in this paper. It has been concluded that uranium deposits were developed during middle-later Mesozoic era and controlled by large fractures, mantle plume and volcano-tectonic activity. Seven uranium-polymetallic metallogenic belts and twenty-three uranium mineralization areas were outlined. Finally, three prospective areas are thought to be favourable for the formation of volcanic uranium deposit. (authors)
