The survey of radioactive level in a cinderblock room somewhere in the inner mongolia

  • 1. China Institute of Atomic Energy, Beijing (China)

Description

In-situ measure the activity concentration of natural radionuclide including U series, Th series and 40K form the wails and floors, and In-situ measure the radon concentration in the air and the gamma dose rate, in the 5 cinderblock rooms somewhere in Inner Mongolia. The range of activity concentration of 226Ra, 232Th, 40K are respectively 101∼311, 69∼125, 1229∼2538 Bq/kg; and the range of indoor radon concentration is 65.5∼143.3 Bq/m3, the mean value is 96.7 Bq/m3; and the range of gamma dose rate is 135.7∼225.6 nGy/h, the mean value is 172.1 nGy/h. Some internal and extemal exposure calculated according the measured values are greater than the national standard value. Preliminarily concludes that the use of cinder block building materials to some extent increase the burden of inside and outside the irradiation on theresidents. (authors)
