Description

The author reviews experimental studies of multi-nucleon interactions in nuclei by pion reactions. Especially he considers the inclusive double-charge exchange reaction. He presents result on the total cross section for this process in dependence on the atomic mass number at 180 and 240 MeV. Furthermore he presents result on the dobule differential cross section for the reaction 4He(π+, π-)4p at energies from 120 MeV to 270 MeV, the angular distribution for the formation of isobaric analog states in reactions on calcium isotopes at 35 MeV, and differential cross sections for complete breakup processes after pion absorption in 3H, 3He, and 4He at energies from 64 to 500 MeV.
