A high resolution ionization chamber detector

Description
An IC + PSSD (Ionization Chamber-Position Sensitive Silicon Detectors) telescope for the identification of heavy ion reaction products at low energies is developed. The performance of the IC detector is tested with α-particles from the 241Am source. The measured energy resolution is limited by the energy loss straggling in the gas and is close to optimum value of this kind of detectors
