UV-oxidation process for water treatment at gas plant sites
Description
A new cleaning process for the removal of tetrahydrothiophene (used as odorant) and condensate from ground water is developed. This process uses an advanced oxidation technique and consists of water treatment by UV-radiation in combination with hydrogen peroxide dosage. The advanced oxidation process was studied both in the laboratory and in the field. The oxidation rate of THT was determined for various ground water compositions and different process conditions. The UV-hydrogen peroxide oxidation technique appears to be a promising method, both technically and economically. It is possible to realize effluent concentrations of odorant and condensate below 0.1 ppb. (au)
