Description
The atomic line spectra of galactic and Magellanic Cloud M supergiants have been successfully synthesized at intermediate resolution. The spectra are most strongly sensitive to metal abundance and microturbulence. The separation of these effects has presented considerable problems for the quantitative analysis of the spectra, however comparison of carefully selected features promises to allow this separation to be made
