Influence of zirconium ions on kinetics of its anodic oxidation
Creators
Description
The effect of zirconium ions in electrolyte upon the process of the growth of anodic films on zirconium is investigated. Zirconium anodizing has been carried out in solution containing 50 g/l of oxalic acid and 2 g/l of ammonium bifluoride. Reduction of activating properties of electrolyte during accumulation of zirconium ions is observed and it is accompanied by some increase of the medium acidity. The growth of zirconium ions amount in the solution from 0 to 7 g/l results in pH reduction from 1,2 tp 1,0. This is explained by zirconium high tendency to complex formation. It is shown, that molecules of hydrofluoric acid are activators of complex formation process
