Evaluation of space charge effect in a cyclotron beam having a truncated Gaussian density distribution
Description
The simulation of space charge effect in cyclotrons has been the subject of current interest due to the need of high intensity (of the order of tens of mA's) and high quality beams in new applications like the neutron spallation source, ADSS etc. In the present work it is assumed a truncated Gaussian density distribution for the beam in the transverse direction and solved the equation of motion numerically to evaluate the shift in the betatron tune due to space charge effect
