Reliability analysis of electrical power supply systems

Description

The electrical power supply systems of reactors are required to perform a number of different functions and under various conditions. It is of the utmost practical importance to evaluate the relative importance of component failure for each situation. The paper discusses this problem, starting from a global model of the system. The approach is based on the fault-tree technique and sensitivity analysis. An example of the application of the proposed approach to the electrical power system of a nuclear reactor is also given.
