Nontopological chiral soliton bag
Description
A chiral nontopological soliton bag for baryons is numerically examined for the hedgehog model in the mean field approximation. The chiral invariance in the Lagrangian is preserved by means of the nonlinear sigma model. The radius and energy of the soliton bag slowly decreases in proportion to f-2/sub π/ as f-1/sub π/ decreases from zero to the physical value. The nontopological soliton bag is thus quite similar to the cloudy bag. The perturbative (linear) approximation for the pion field is found to be reasonable
