The role of potential and friction in the dynamics of heavy ion reactions

Description

A classical theory with dissipative forces is used to analyze the reactions between heavy ions high above the Coulomb barrier. The importance of the interplay between the conservative nuclear potential and dissipative forces is discussed. It is demonstrated that a dynamical theory with dissipative forces is very useful for the interpretation of the experimental results. (author)
