Progress in an operational [neutron] dosimetry system using PADC [poly-allyl diglycol carbonate]

Description
Recent developments in the operation of the National Radiological Protection Board's poly-allyl diglycol carbonate (PADC or CR-39) neutron personal dosemeter are discussed. Aging effects may be allowed for by assuming a functional time dependence which agreed fairly well with existing data. The effects are made less severe when a nylon radiator element for thermal neutron response is included in the dosemeter. Initial simulations of a dosemeter employing an all-nylon holder are reported. (author)
